Children's Writers Discussion List
Writing can be a lonely occupation. Why not join our discussion list
and use e-mail to get keep in touch with other children's writers aiming
for the UK market? We are a very friendly group and always welcome new
members.
What's involved?
Membership is free and you can leave at any time you like. Your e-mail
address is added to the circulation list so you and all the other members
receive all the e-mails sent to it. If you want to contribute to the discussion,
you can send an e-mail to a central address which will be circulated to
everyone else so it's the electronic equivalent of sitting round in a
circle chatting.
If you decide to join, you'll receive a welcoming e-mail with more information
on taking part in discussions plus hints and tips on netiquette.
Who can join?
Anyone writing or wishing to write for the UK children's market is
welcome to join. You don't have to be a published writer - you'll find
there's a mixture of published and unpublished writers on the list.
Can I advertise my books on the list?
We prefer not to have straight adverts but you are welcome to mention
your books, especially in your signature. In particular, please share
your delight with everyone when something is accepted or published.
It cheers us all up.
Will I be flooded with hundreds of messages?
No. This list usually has fairly light traffic so it shouldn't overfill
your mailbox. If you prefer, you can receive a digest edition or read
the messages online at the yahoo
groups site.
Will you sell my address to bulk mailers?
Absolutely not. I hate junk mail and wouldn't do anything to help
it. The list is run on the yahoogroups system. You can see Yahoo's privacy
policy here.
Will I receive viruses from the list?
As a safety measure to stop the spread of viruses, we have set the list
so no messages can have email attachments.
How do I join?
Just enter your e-mail address in the box and click
the button.
