News Flash 11/01/07 The sudden tragic death of Richard Horne (known professionally as Harry Horse) and his wife was announced today, and SCBWI Scotland wishes to express its deep sympathy with their families and colleagues. A tribute to Harry's life and work will be given at the Illustrators Day on 3rd February 2007, when he was due to address the meeting.

The annual SCBWI Illustrators Day will be held on 3rd February 2007 with the support of Edinburgh College of Art.
Everyone welcome - members, contacts and anyone interested in illustrating books for children.
Its for the published and the hopeful, the experienced and the novice - with some great guest speakers:
>> Superb writer and illustrator John Fardell.
>> Cam Kennedy and Alan Grant
- legends in the world of comics. They have just completed a graphic novel version of 'Kidnapped' - adapted by Alan, illustrated by Cam.
>> Their publisher, Ron Grosset of Geddes and Grosset will be joining them to speak about the journey they took in getting this exciting new version of the book to fruition.
>> Harry Horse
, wunderkind political cartoonist & childrens' book illustrator will be there to give us his take on it all.
>> Head of Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art Jonathon Gibbs will be joined by one of his most successful graduates to talk about life after college.
>> Writer Viv French will be introducing everyone again, and gracefully shepherding us through the day.

Great talk! Real experiences! Brilliant networking!
Any ONE of them would be worth coming to hear - we've got the lot!
There will be portfolio reviews too (by prior booking only - numbers limited).
